MEET OUR PRESCHOOL TEAM

Meet the talented teachers behind our success

Members of our staff are educated and experienced in early childhood teaching methods and practices. They regularly participate

in continuing education in curriculum development, health and safety. Our staff includes teachers, assistants and substitutes

who have taught at the center since they began as student teachers.

With my time here, I've been fortunate to work across the entire facility. Every lesson has taught me so much, and I am constantly in awe of the children's creativity. Being a member of a group this dedicated makes me proud!

Two's Classroom Lead

I have been at Pelham Children's Center since October 2012. I have an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and am a member of the Board of Education of New York City. I have been working with children between the ages of 2-3 years old for more than 20 years.

Erika Serafin

Toddler's Co-Lead Teacher

My name is Erika Serafin and I've been working at PCC for the past 7 years. I have a bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science and I'm currently in the last year of my Masters's degree in Early Childhood Education with a tri certificate in birth- 2nd, 1-6, and special education. What I most enjoy about children is being able to see their growth and accomplishments. Getting to experience their “aha” moments is truly something beautiful.

Toddler's Co-Lead Teacher

Since 2016, I have been a substitute at the Pelham Children's Center and an Assistant Teacher at Afterschool Program at Hutchinson.

I love working with children because I am able to teach each child something they will take with them for the rest of their lives. I enjoy how close everyone is at the center. I am currently completing my Certification as a Childcare Development Associate (CDA) which will further enhance my skills as a teacher.

I received my Associate's degree in Early Childhood in 2009. My total years at PCC have been 10 yrs and going on my 11th year in October 2019. I
have learned and grown so much here at PCC - I love the atmosphere and that my work with the children is valued.

I have been working at Pelham Children's Center for 33 years and I also work part-time at Hutchinson Elementary School. I enjoys working in a childcare setting and being surrounded by curiosity and creativity.

Cook

I've worked at Pelham Children's Center for 34 years. I started as a TA in Preschool A and after moved into Preschool B for 29 years. For more than four years now I have been the Center's cook.
